Pull the curtains closed, take the shade off of a small lamp or use a slide projector, and place it on the floor at the side of the room so that it will cast shadows on the wall if children stand in front of it. Now put on some music and invite children to dance with their shadows. Great idea for a rainy day!
Remember, toddlers love objects. Create things for them to shake or wave while they dance, such as paper pom poms, scarves or crepe paper streamers.
Toddlers can jump, wave their hands, arms or legs, dance fast or slow, they can freeze (like hot potato) and so many more creative movements that they can come up with.
