Materials: Five or six empty 2 liter soda bottles and balls
Description: Set up plastic bottles like bowling pins. The bottles do not have to be set up in a specific way, so let the toddlers help set up. Have the toddlers use a lightweight ball to roll from a short distance (5 or 6 feet) to knock the bottles down. You can encourage them to find different ways to knock the pins over (ex. throwing the ball, running through the pins, kicking).
Skills being used: The toddlers follow directions, use eye hand coordination and gross motor skills. They also use problem solving skills when they try to find other ways to knock the pins over.
